Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the State Government approved ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ as the Telangana state song. On the eve of completion of 10 years of the formation of Telangana state on June 2 , the government is already making arrangements for the decennial fete of state formation day on a grand scale. The state song will be released during the celebrations.
CM Revanth Reddy said that the government approved the song, which depicts the struggle for Telangana, with the acceptance of all stakeholders so that the future generation will remember the sacrifices of telangana martyrs and sing the song forever. Noted Telangana poet and writer Andesri declared that the song written 20 year ago has been accepted without any changes. Oscar Award winner MM Keeravani composed music and sang the state song.
State Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Ministers – N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodara Rajanarsimha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Jupalli Krishna Rao, Sitakka, Konda Surekha along with former Minister Jana Reddy attended the meeting held by CM Revanth at the Secretariat today ( Thursday) evening at Secretariat. Professor Kodandaram, Andesri, Keeravani, CPI MLA K Sambasivarao, CPM State Secretary T Veerabhadram, MPs, MLAs and former MPs who were present in the Parliament when the Telangana Bill was passed and representatives of the parties who played an active role in the Telangana movement also participated in the meeting.
The state song has been produced in two versions. The duration of the first version of the song will be 2.30 minutes and the second version of the full song is 13.30 minutes. The CM announced that a short song with 2.30 minutes duration with three stanzas in full song will be used in the official government programmes. The two songs will be considered as state Songs. On this occasion, the singer group headed by Keeravani crooned the song and entertained the participants in the meeting.
CM Revanth Reddy said that his government took many initiatives as part of rebuilding the Telangana state. The abbreviation of the state has already been changed as TG from TS . Along with vehicle registration numbers, all government institutions are already using TG in the place of TS.
The Chief Minister said that the state song has been approved based on the decision taken in the cabinet meeting. The cabinet also took the decision to change the state official emblem and Telangana Talli statue.
The CM said that the government already received around 500 samples from artists from different parts of the state. All the designs are still under discussion and no one has been finalized yet.
The CM said that a final decision has also not been taken regarding the Telangana Talli statue and the artists are busy designing the statue. The government will take a final decision on Telangana emblem and Telangana Talli statue only after discussion in the Assembly without giving any scope to misconceptions and false propaganda. The government is preparing an action plan to uphold the Telangana prestige and inspire the future generations with the acceptance of all in the finalization of emblem and statue.
